Here’s that video of Evologics’ robotic mechanical ray that I talked about earlier (design inspired by Nature). In the video, the creature is remote-controlled. Festo presents the “fin ray effect” in this PDF file showing how they adapted the concept to an automated task. You can see their aerial version below:
