As you may know, the Robotiq team loves all kinds of sports. We have amongst our ranks competitive cyclists, triathletes, ironmen, hunters, runners, hikers and swimmers.
This weekend our very own Mathieu Bélanger-Barrette, who many of you will know from his informative blog postings, competed in a winter downhill bike race, the Challenge Fat Bike Mont Sainte-Anne 2016. Yes, even in winter at temperatures of minus 25 C. And Yes, it's downhill like skiing, except on Fatbikes. This was a 15 km (10 mile) race with a 625 m (2000 feet) drop. Yep, they do it on bikes over trails in the snow and the cold! I’ll bet about now you’re saying: they must be crazy! Do you want to see what it was like? Check out this video.
In his own words: "I had a BLAST at the Challenge Fat Bike last weekend which was held at MSA. The mass start was given at the top of the mountain and led us straight into twisty single tracks, and finished at the bottom of the ski resort! A bunch of downhill guys and enthusiastic cross-country riders made the perfect mix for this type of event! I also ended up winning!"
Congrats Mat, we are proud of you!
