Founded in 1950, Caffè Corsini is an iconic name in Italian coffee, exporting to over 60 countries worldwide. But as demand (and product variety) grew, manual palletizing started holding them back.

“Our operators were lifting 8–9 kg (17-20 lb) boxes and stacking them up to 2.4 meters (8ft) high, sometimes using ladders,” explains Riccardo Da Ragione, Production and Logistics Manager. “It was exhausting, risky, and simply unsustainable.”

From physical strain to automated support

To reduce risks and accelerate throughput, Caffè Corsini installed a Robotiq Palletizing Solution on its most demanding packaging line. Preconfigured for their specific box samples, the system was up and running almost immediately.

“It was surprisingly easy to get started. The interface is intuitive, and now several operators can use it with confidence. Even training new team members is simple—peer-to-peer learning works perfectly.” - Riccardo Da Ragione

Flexibility built for real-world production

With frequent format changes, varying pallet patterns, and slip sheets in the mix, Caffè Corsini needed a solution that could adapt on the fly. Robotiq’s palletizer handled it all, without slowing down.

Results that go beyond ROI

Since the deployment, the team has seen real, measurable impact:

  • Reduced physical strain for operators
  • Improved productivity across the line
  • Better morale—especially when an operator, just 1.5 meters (5 ft) tall, completed a full 2.5-meter (8+ ft) pallet without needing a ladder

“We now produce more, with fewer risks and less effort,” says Riccardo. “It was truly a smart investment—especially given our limited floor space.” - Riccardo Da Ragione

What’s Next?

Encouraged by the results, Caffè Corsini is now exploring how to replicate the success across other lines.
Riccardo’s advice for other manufacturers?
“Do a proper evaluation and test it. Once you see it in action, the benefits speak for themselves. It’s definitely the future.”
