Meet our EuRobotiq Team - The interview

How did you start working with Robotiq?

Moeller-Leif_businessI used to work for a leading company in the machine vision industry, and was quite content with my role there. However, when Nicolas Hardy contacted me in the behalf of Robotiq, he caught my attention: he was super friendly, and even flew out to Frankfurt so we could meet in person. After sharing a bit about our experiences in the automation business, I realized I wanted to learn more about collaborative robots (cobots). That’s why I got in touch with the Robotiq team.

They gave me such a warm welcome; I was really impressed by the Robotiq culture! At the same time, I was learning more about the cobot industry and felt that this market, and Robotiq, had huge potential. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to boost my career while working with a fantastic team in a unique company culture. From that day on, I have been a proud member of the dynamic Robotiq team.

What do you work on? What does that mean for the world?

As a Channel Sales Manager in the DACH region, I’m a link between the company and our partners. I always try to find the best solution so that everybody can benefit from a win-win solutions. The cobot business still has so much room to grow, especially in German-speaking regions.

The best way to succeed, in my eyes, is to grow together with our partners and end-users. Being a part of this growing market means we’ll have an impact on the future of manufacturing production, which will be driven and supported by cobot usage. Not only do we enable manufacturers to begin production sooner, we also further our mission of freeing human hands from tedious tasks.

This opportunity—to make not only Robotiq, but also our partners and the industry as a whole more efficient and successful—motivates me to push myself to the best of my abilities. Ultimately, my goal is to create a team environment that combines great success with a lot of fun.

What are your biggest values?

Moeller-Leif_kidI value honesty and fairness. As someone who enjoys being around people I respect and trust, I try to give my best to them; I strive to give to them as much as they have given me. I enjoy helping others achieve their goals just as much as accomplishing my own.

Work is important too. It means more to me than just earning money: I’ve always loved my job, and I have chosen to work for companies with which I share a vision and outlook.

In my professional life as well as my private life, I try to keep an open mind. Everyone has something to teach you, and so being open to new approaches is the best way to improve yourself. I’m also a knowledge-seeker and always happy to try something new. Last, but definitely not least, I’m grateful for the support of my family and the fact that even the hardest day ends with being in a loving home.

What do you do when you’re not working?

When I’m not working, I spend as much time as I can with my family. Although I love travelling for business and meeting interesting people, there’s nothing like coming home and spending time with my wife and kids. We spend a lot of time outdoors, especially in summer.

Of course, I value my friendships highly, and enjoy spending evenings with friends in good restaurants or bars—catching up on what’s new in our lives or reminiscing about the good ol’ days.

The rest of my time is spent on sports. Whether in the gym or climbing with my eldest son at our local Boulderhalle (bouldering gym), physical activity lets me step back, decelerate, and take time to look after my aging body :).
