The 2-Finger 140 Adaptive Robot Gripper Now Commercially Available!

Always driven by the idea of giving manufacturers maximum flexibility in the automation of high-mix processes with a single electric gripper, Robotiq is thrilled to announce the availability of the 2-Finger 140 Adaptive Robot Gripper. We were seeking to complete our 2-Finger Adaptive Gripper line by having a Gripper that could handle different kinds of objects and still have the same flexibility as our other Grippers. The 2-Finger 140 is the right compromise.

With the exact same principle as the 2-Finger 85, this Gripper with its longer stroke is designed for lighter applications. In fact, with a lower payload, it is purposed for electronic handling, small part pick and place and consumer goods grasping. 

Fully programmable, the new Robotiq Gripper provides:

• Three distinct gripping modes: Parallel, encompassing and inside grip. We have tried to give the same flexibility to the new Gripper so it was important for us to keep the 3 gripping modes to enable handling of different part geometries including: flat, square, cylindrical and irregular shapes.   

•   High payload to weight ratio: The Grippers are able to handle parts up to 5kg for the 2-F85 and 2.5kg for the 2-F140 version. 

•  Precise speed and force controls: Enable the handling of parts of different rigidities ranging from brittle, to deformable, to stiff. The Gripper’s force control has also been enhanced to secure the grip and to be able to grasp fragile objects flawlessly. 

•  Accurate finger control: Enables fast cycle times through partial open/closing. With such a long stroke, you may want to adjust or reduce the stroke to more closely match your part dimensions to avoid wasting time waiting for the Gripper to complete its whole stroke.  

Taken together, these capabilities make the 2-Finger Adaptive Gripper family a perfect fit for high-mix processes such as: light assembly, sorting and kitting, packaging, machine tending, bin picking and part transfer.
