‭How to Identify the Type of Connector at the Flange of Universal Robot's E-Series Robot?

Use your robot’s serial number to determine if it has a male or female tool connector

In September 2024, Universal Robots updated their e-Series robot models (UR3e, UR5e, UR10e, UR16e) to include an M8 female connector at the tool flange. This aligns the design with the UR20 and UR30 models, helping to reduce flange damage and simplify product compatibility. (UR communication)

How to Identify Your Connector Type?

If you have an e-Series robot, you can determine the connector type by comparing your robot’s serial number to the table below. If your serial number is higher, your robot has a female flange connector. If it is lower, your robot has a male connector.

Robot Serial Number of First Unit with Female Connector
UR3e 20245300905
UR5e 20245501103
UR10e 20245202450
UR16e 20245600129

All UR20 and UR30 robots are equipped with female connectors by default.
