How to Update the Firmware of the FT 300 Sensor
Manually upgrade your FT 300 using the firmware upgrader on a computer
Context
In some cases, updating the firmware of the FT 300 Force Torque Sensor directly on the robot may not work properly. This article explains how to perform a manual firmware update by connecting the sensor to a computer.
Information
Step 1 – Connect the Sensor to a Computer

Use the RS485-to-USB converter to connect the FT 300 Sensor to your computer.

Power the sensor using:

The robot, or
-
An external power source that provides a constant 24 V / 1 A current.

Step 2 – Choose the Correct Firmware Upgrader
Download the appropriate upgrader depending on your operating system:

Windows 10 → FT-300 Firmware Upgrader (Windows 10)

Windows versions earlier than 10 → FT-300 Firmware Upgrader (below Windows 10)
Step 3 – Run the Upgrader

Unzip the downloaded folder.

Double-click
Robotiq_upgrader.exe

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
Step 4 – Verify the Update

After updating, connect the sensor to your computer again.

Use the Visual Demo Software to confirm the FT 300 is functioning correctly.
