Controlling a Robotiq Gripper with a Dobot Robot

Learn how to integrate and operate Robotiq grippers using Dobot Studio Pro

This article explains how to use Robotiq Grippers, specifically 2F and Epick models, with Dobot robots via Dobot Studio Pro. The integration is made possible through a dedicated plug-in developed and supported by Dobot. Robotiq does not provide support for this software component.

1. Supported Robotiq Grippers and Kits

The following Robotiq Grippers are compatible with Dobot robots and can be mounted directly to the robot's wrist using dedicated kits:

  • 2F-140 Gripper Kit – Part number: AGC-CRX-KIT-140

  • 2F-85 Gripper Kit – Part number: AGC-CRX-KIT-85

  • Hand-E Gripper Kit – Part number: HND-CRX-KIT 

  • Hand-E C10 Gripper Kit – Part number: HND-C10-CRX-KIT

  • EPick Gripper Kit – Part number: VAC-GRP-EPICK + GRP-ES-CPL-062
     

2. Integration via Dobot Studio Pro

  • Dobot Studio Pro includes a pre-installed plug-in for Robotiq 2F, Hand-E, and Epick grippers.

  • No additional software installation is required. The plugin is embedded and active for any Dobot robot sold with this version of the software.

3. Documentation

Dobot provides documentation for the Robotiq plug-in. This includes setup guides, UI descriptions, and function explanations.

4. Important Notes

  • Robotiq does not maintain or provide support for Dobot’s plug-in. For any technical issues or integration problems, please contact Dobot Support.

  • Make sure that your Dobot robot is running a compatible version of Dobot Studio Pro with the plugin included.
