Reducing the Noise of the Robotiq Powerpick Gripper

The goal of this article is to provide guidance on how to reduce noise levels in Powerpick applications.

Contributing Factor #1: Pressure

Noise levels are primarily caused by pressure. Therefore, reducing the pressure will help decrease the noise.

  1. Gradually reduce working pressure to the minimum required to lift your boxes effectively.
  2. Minimize head loss to further reduce working pressure.

Contributing Factor #2: Sound Propagation

The way sound propagates also influences noise levels. Relocating the Powerpick box can help mitigate noise. In the PE series, relocating the Powerpick box becomes effective when the inlet pressure exceeds 5.5 bar.
