Why this information is very important
Most of our URCaps are only compatible with the CB3.1 UR CB-Series controller. If one of our products fails to work properly after a URCap update on a CB-Series robot, this might be one of the reasons. There are two ways to differentiate the controller's version.
The First Way
The first (and easiest) way to find out if a UR robot has a CB3.0 or a CB3.1 controller is by asking yourself the following question:
"Is Polyscope installed on an SD card or a USB drive?"
Note:
Motherboard 3.0 uses a compact flash memory card. So, if Polyscope is installed on an SD card: This is a UR CB3.0 controller.
Note :
Motherboard 3.1 uses a USB memory stick. So, if Polyscope is installed on a USB drive: This is a UR CB3.1 controller.
The Second Way
Sometimes the robot controller cannot be accessed. In those cases, we can use the serial number of the robot. The robot is a CB3.0 if the serial number is between:
Robot | From | To |
UR5 | 2014350001 | 2016351863 |
UR10 | 2014300001 | 2016301178 |
Therefore, if your serial number is higher, you should have a CB3.1 controller.
