3 Tools to Help Analyze Your Automation Project

Written by Karine Simard | Apr 12, 2016 11:00 AM

Okay, so maybe you don't have time to read a complete eBook on how to shop for a collaborative robot, but you are still interested how to do this. Well, we have totally thought about you. As part of our Getting Started with Collaborative Robots Educational Series, we've recently released three tools which will help you analyze your automation project.

The automation cheat sheet

The cheat sheet summarizes the key technical specifications you will be looking for in a robot cell based on the intended application. To know which robot specification is important for machine tending, product testing, assembly, finishing and other applications. This is THE reference document to begin your collaborative robot shopping.

The process documentation worksheet

Once you’ve looked at the cheat sheet and have figured out where to look and what to measure in your application assessment, you will need to note all of this information somewhere. Use this worksheet to note all the important data for your automation project in one place. So you have all your important information at hand when talking to your suppliers or robot representative.

Still having difficulties seeing if your potential process is doable or not. Well, let us know about the process you are thinking about automating and we may be able to give you some suggestions. In fact, this free service allows you to upload videos and/or photos of your manual process (confidentiality insured) and we'll provide a report outlining the main challenges you will want to consider. Check it out here.

If you are not here yet, we also have a bunch of eBooks, which will provide you with more information on robotics, grippers and other interesting technologies.
