Robotiq Releases More Universal Robots Bundles

Written by Mathieu Bélanger-Barrette | Jul 08, 2015 6:38 PM

We have recently released bundles to integrate our products with Universal Robots. Basically, there is nothing new in terms of hardware, it is just an easier way to order our products. Instead of ordering each part separately and having to choose the right cables and the right couplings or adapter plates, a bundle allows you to simply order one package and receive everything you need to integrate your tool with your UR robot. In our quest to simplify things for the end user, these bundles are just a step forward in this direction.

2-Finger 85 Adaptive Robot Gripper Kit for Universal Robots

To fit the 2-Finger 85 Adaptive Robot Gripper on a Universal Robots is easier than ever when you order the kit. A mechanical coupling and software interface make the final product as embedded and seamless as possible. The Gripper still uses its adaptive technology to grab various objects with its 85 mm stroke. The Gripper can grasp objects in encompassing and pinch mode which makes it very versatile for different types of applications like machine tending and pick-and-place.

This kit includes:

  • 2-Finger 85 Gripper
  • Mechanical Coupling
  • All screws to fix the Gripper on the robot
  • Communication / power cable
  • Software interface
  • Instructions

FT 150 Force Torque Sensor Kit for Universal Robots

The force torque sensor enables the robot to feel what it is doing. Even if the UR incorporates its own embedded force-torque sensors in all its joints, they cannot be used for precision applications. This is the reason why the FT 150 has been chosen by many end users to do force sensing applications. With a sensitivity of 0.5N and a design immune to external noise, the sensor is especially adapted for industrial and research applications

This kit includes:

  • FT 150 Force Torque Sensor
  • Mechanical Coupling
  • All screws to fix the Sensor on the robot
  • Communication / power cable
  • Software interface
  • Instructions

2-Finger 85 + FT 150 Force Torque Sensor Kit for Universal Robots

This bundle has been used for operations that need force feedback. Since the 2-Finger 85 is perfect for applications such as machine tending and pick-and-place, adding force feedback to this Gripper provides more information to the robot which allows it to perform more complex applications.

The bundle includes:

  • 2-Finger 85 Adaptive Gripper
  • FT 150 Force Torque Sensor
  • Mechanical Couplings
  • All screws to fix the Gripper and the Sensor on the robot
  • Communication / power cables
  • Software interface
  • Instructions

3-Finger Adaptive Robot Gripper Kit for Universal Robots

The 3-Finger Gripper has better dexterity than the 2-Finger 85. In fact, with a supplementary finger and a wider range of grasp options, it can carry a large number of differently shaped objects than the 2-Finger 85. However, the grip force is lower than the 2-Finger 85 (200 N for the 2-F VS 60 N for the 3-F). But once the Gripper is in encompassing mode, it can carry a lot more weight than the 2-Finger 85 (5 kg for the 2-F VS 10 kg for the 3-F). The 3-Finger Gripper has been used for widely divergent applications, from lab operations to the DARPA robotics challenge.

This bundle includes:

  • 3-Finger Adaptive Gripper
  • Mechanical Coupling
  • Communication and power cables
  • All screws to fix the Gripper on the robot
  • Instructions

3-Finger + FT 150 Force Torque Sensor Kit for Universal Robots

This bundle combines a flexible Gripper with force sensing which allows you to accomplish a lot of diverse tasks. We have seen this combination set up in assembly tasks, product testing, part ordering using force feedback and many more applications. You should seriously consider if your next application could take advantage of improved process agility and flexibility through the use of this bundle.

This bundle includes:

  • 3-Finger Adaptive Gripper
  • FT 150 Force Torque Sensor
  • Mechanical Couplings
  • All Communication and power cables
  • All screws to fix the Gripper and Sensor on the robot
  • Instructions

As you can see our product remains the same for the moment, though of course we are always working to improve existing designs and develop new concepts. Contact us anytime if you have specific questions regarding our products. You also might find useful information in our Resource Center, as it provides Case Studies and eBooks on individual projects and some of them may be similar to what you are contemplating, which could provide valuable information for your project.
