Standard and Customizable Features of Robotiq’s Palletizing Solution

Overview of the standard design and available customizations for clean, food-grade, or specialized environments

Context:

This article provides an overview of the standard build of Robotiq's palletizing solution and outlines what customizations are available for specific industry requirements such as food & beverage, clean rooms, or wash-down environments.

Standard Design and Environment

  • The palletizer includes open surfaces and some holes as part of its standard structure.
  • It does not feature sloped surfaces as standard.
  • The frame is made of powder-coated painted steel, offering corrosion resistance, though it is not rust-proof like stainless steel.
  • The standard paint used is not food-grade.
  • IP ratings:
    • UR controller: IP4X
    • Palletizer (overall): IPXX

Clean Design:

  • Filling in structural holes upon request
  • Surface modifications to meet clean design requirements

Food & Beverage Compliance:

  • Food-grade paint is not applied by default.

Wash-Down Adaptations:

  • Our palletizing solution is not designed for direct wash-down.
  • However, the following workarounds are possible:
    1. Relocate the solution during wash-down cycles
      • The preferred methods is to use our products
        • PAL Ready
        • PE20 Mobility Kit
    2. Elevate the base if wash-down occurs on the floor
    3. Protect the palletizer with a cover/tarpaulin

Important: Damage caused by wash-down procedures is not covered under warranty.

All those requests can be assessed throught our Installation services feel free to contact : support@robotiq.com

Special Environments (Non-Standard)

Clean Room Applications:
    • Certification and feasibility review required
    • Submit specific cleanliness requirements for evaluation
INOX Frame or Custom Mechanical Design:
    • Robotiq does not supply stainless steel frames
    • In special cases, we can provide only the controller and electrical system
    • Integrators are responsible for building a compatible frame that matches the required dimensions to match the software trajectory generation
    • Reference dimensions and compatibility info are available on our Support Website
    • After design, Robotiq can validate geometric compatibility with the trajectory software
    • All engineering calculations remain the responsibility of the integrator
ATEX or Explosive Environments:
    • The standard palletizing solution is not suitable for ATEX-certified zones
Paint Options:
    • Custom paint requests can be evaluated upon contacting support@robotiq.com

Warranty Notice

Robotiq’s product warranty does not cover any damage caused by unauthorized environmental exposure such as wash-down procedures, corrosion, or non-approved modifications.

Conclusion

Robotiq’s palletizing solution is designed for standard industrial environments, with optional customization available through our installation services. For specialized use cases, reach out early in the project phase to ensure compatibility.
