Understanding which Robotiq gripper kits are compatible with NEURA MAiRA robots

This article provides information about the compatibility of Robotiq Gripper Kits with NEURA MAiRA robots. While Robotiq does not officially support this integration, several CRX-compatible kits have been reported to work with MAiRA platforms.

Information

  • The following Robotiq CRX Gripper Kits are known to be compatible with NEURA MAiRA robots:

    • HND-CRX-KIT [Robotiq Hand-E Gripper Kit for Fanuc CRX]

    • AGC-CRX-KIT-85 [Robotiq 2F-85 Gripper Kit for Fanuc CRX]

    • AGC-CRX-KIT-140 [Robotiq 2F-140 Gripper Kit for Fanuc CRX]

    • HND-C10-CRX-KIT [Robotiq Hand-E C10 Gripper Kit for Fanuc CRX]

    • VAC-GRP-EPICK + GRP-ES-CPL-062 [EPick Basic Gripper + e-Series coupling adapter (male robot wrist connector)]

  • These kits have an ISO 9409-1–50–4–M6 bolt pattern and communicate via Modbus RTU over the robot's wrist's 8-pin M8 connector.

  • Our grippers are Modbus RTU slave units with a default ID of 9. They are plug & play with many robots; however, NEURA MAiRA robots are not plug-and-play with our grippers.

    Therefore, users will need to map the registers of the gripper. There is more information on this in our gripper instruction manual, section 4.2 - Gripper Register Mapping.
