Most of the SME's out there have recruiting issues. Nowadays, there are fewer experienced welders that are able to do complex jobs. On the other side, implanting an automated welding cell in a welding shop can be complicated when it's time to have programmers and welding experts working together to have a complete solution. This is where Robotiq's Kinetiq Teaching enters into the picture. In fact, with a simple hand-guiding method and easy-to-use interface, Kinetiq Teaching enables everyone to program a welding robot.
By guiding the robot, the worker can teach the robot the different points on the welding path. The concept is quiet simple and easy to use. This allows a wider range of workers to use the robot and also allows for the programming of the robot way faster than the usual method. By doing so, you can use the welding robot for smaller batches and have a wider mix of welded assembly without all the complexity of traditional programming. Which means the robot can work smaller runs more often, so the payback is faster.
We will show off the Kinetiq Teaching concept in our own booth (C2230) at Fabtech this year. The Kinetiq Teaching is only available for Motoman robots at the moment. This is why Kinetiq will also be viewable at the Yaskawa/Motoman booth (C1534) too. The Motoman booth will also include the programming methods using an external axis.
The newest version of the Robotiq 2-Finger 85 Adaptive Gripper will be shown for the first time. It has been designed in order to fit like a glove on the Universal Robot. In fact, not only is it easy to install mechanically, but also the software package is easy to integrate and program. But we haven't forgotten our other products, they will also be shown at Fabtech. Because we know each application has its own particular requirements. The 3-Finger Adaptive Gripper for a maximum of flexibility and a virtual infinity of operations. The industrial 2-Finger 200 Adaptive Gripper with its 750N gripping force and 23kg payload. And another recent addition to our product line; the FT 150 Force Torque Sensor will also be on display. The sensor has created a real interest in many divergent fields of applications. It can be fitted on the 2-Finger 85 and the 3-Finger Adaptive Gripper.
