A Collaborative Robot Performing Several Assembly Steps

Creating Revolution is a Miami Startup producing a hospitality pager that connect the customer's smartphone to the waiter. That's a great asset to offer efficient table service, but a few months ago, the pager's production line wasn't that efficient.

Robot Does It All

Facing double-digit product reject rates, Creating Revolution's CEO, Einar Rosenberg, looked for robotics automation in the hope of improving accuracy and reliability of his production. He turned to Matt Bush's robot rental business, Hirebotics, to integrate a collaborative robot able to perform two different cycles and several assembly steps.

It is quite impressive to see the same Universal Robots UR3 - Robotiq 2-Finger Adaptive Gripper combo doing so many tasks in a smooth, fast and efficient way. They first check if the aluminium housing parts are lined correctly on the tray to prevent any bad start to the assembly. When this check-up is sucessful, the Gripper picks the housing part and places it on the first assembly station, uses tools to complete the task and then moves the assembly to the next station.

See the video and read the complete story to get a great idea of all the Robotiq-UR combo can do. Then, you won't be surprised to read that Creating Revolution's products rejects rates are now under 1% and production increase is a high multiple!
